Abstracts
The 2012 IAH Congress technical program has been developed around a series of six Themes that include sessions having a strong focus and more general sessions that are expected to attract broader hydrogeological interest.
Abstracts are invited for all sessions. Abstracts will only be accepted using the online submission process and all authors must use the IAH 2012 Congress Abstract Template. On-line submission will close on March 15, 2012 – approval of abstracts will be provided by April 30, 2012 and will be considered only “provisional” until at least one author has paid their registration by June 15, 2012. No abstract will be scheduled in the program until payment is confirmed.
During on-line submission you will be invited to indicate whether your abstract is directed towards a particular Session under the various Themes or if you simply have no preference. You will also be asked to select your preferred mode of presentation: Oral, Poster, or Either (no preference). While the program organizers and session convenors will do their best to meet your indicated preferences, they reserve the right to override your requests if they feel your paper would fit well in another session with compatible abstracts.
Your on-line abstract submission must be prepared in English and will include four parts:
- abstract title
- names and affiliations for each author (no more than 6 (SIX) authors may be listed on an abstract) plus the e-mail address of the lead author
- up to five keywords
- the body text of your abstract
In total your abstract should not exceed 2000 characters not including spaces. Prior to submission, please check the spelling of the abstract very carefully using your word processor. Please use the IAH 2012 Congress Abstract Template to assist with abstract preparation.
Pre-Congress Extended Abstracts and Full Papers
Authors are not obliged to provide anything more than the abstract described above. The abstract will be published in the IAH 2012 Congress program that is distributed to delegates. Authors wishing to provide more details of their work in the form of extended abstracts or papers must provide such material by June 15, 2012. This material will be “published” on a CD or thumb drive that will be distributed at the meeting to all registered delegates. Please use the IAH 2012 Congress Extended Abstract Template for Extended Abstract preparation.
Post-Congress Papers
It is the intention of the organisers to prepare one or more post-Congress “Proceedings” that would contain selected papers associated with a particular session theme. Papers included in these post-Congress publications would be by invitation only and would be subjected to peer review. Titles and themes for these publications will be selected following consultation with Session Convenors and Session Chairs prior to and during the Congress.
